Geno’s multidisciplinary
approach, dynamic personality, and astute insights have
guided leaders in the U.S., England, Poland, Kenya, the
Czech Republic, and Iceland. Clients at organizations
such as MedImmune, Fannie Mae, Zurich Insurance, the
National Institutes of Health, the American Institute
of Architects, Johns Hopkins Health System, Stanford
University, and the University of Virginia have trusted
him as coach, facilitator, trainer, and advisor. He is
also the designer and faculty director for the innovative
Executive Leadership Institute, an action learning fellowship
for urban leaders and librarians.
Geno is an internationally
recognized expert on the FIRO-B, an instrument for measuring
interpersonal and group relations. His practical publications
from Consulting Psychologists Press, Inc. have been translated
into seven languages and are used around the globe.
Prior
to his work as an independent coach and consultant, Geno
was an award-winning professor in the areas of leadership,
negotiation, and innovation for the Carey Program in
Entrepreneurship at the Johns Hopkins University. He
also served the university for six years as director
of organization development and diversity.
Geno has a
Ph.D. in organizational behavior and an M.B.A. from the
Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University
of Maryland, and an M.S. in adult learning/human resources
development and a B.S. in psychology from the University
of Rochester.
